Terms of Service

These terms govern every family account, parent, and child profile on Cocoon AI. By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of yourself and any child profile you add.

Last updated 17 August 2026

In plain terms

  • Cocoon accounts are family accounts: one parent is the account Owner, who can add a co-parent as a Member or invite a read-only Viewer.
  • Child profiles are created and supervised by the parent - a child never independently agrees to these terms.
  • Emma and Studio are provided for guided learning. AI responses are moderated but not guaranteed to be error-free.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn't refund the current period - see our Refund Policy.
  • Publishing a Studio project makes it public until it's unpublished.
  • We can suspend accounts that attempt to bypass safety controls or otherwise abuse the service.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Think Grid Technologies Private Limited ("Cocoon," "we," "us"), governing your use of the Cocoon AI website, apps, courses, Studio, and public API (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, adding a child profile, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Accounts & family roles

Every Cocoon account belongs to a family, structured around three roles:

  • Owner - the single adult who created the account and holds ultimate responsibility for it. There is exactly one Owner per family.
  • Member - a co-parent or guardian added by the Owner, with near-full access to manage children, billing, and settings.
  • Viewer - an invited adult with read-only visibility, without access to PINs, credentials, or the ability to delete data.

You must be a legal adult to create an account or hold the Owner or Member role. Child profiles are sub-accounts created inside a family account by an Owner or Member; a child cannot register independently, and does not separately accept these Terms - the adult who creates the profile does, on the child's behalf.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials and your children's PINs confidential, and for all activity that happens under your account.

3. What Cocoon provides

Cocoon provides guided AI lessons through our AI companion, Emma; a project workspace, Studio, where kids build and can optionally publish real projects; structured courses; and, for older or more advanced kids, a public API that lets code they write outside Cocoon call the same underlying AI. Every request through the public API is subject to the same safety layer as everything else on Cocoon - it cannot be disabled or overridden by a caller, including by your child.

4. Parental responsibility

As the Owner or a Member on a family account, you are responsible for supervising your child's use of Cocoon, for the accuracy of the information you provide about them, and for the screen-time limits, topics, and settings you configure on their behalf. You can review, adjust, or delete a child's profile at any time from your parent dashboard.

5. Acceptable use

You (and anyone using an account you're responsible for) agree not to:

  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or trick Emma's safety filters or content moderation.
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or share illegal or exploitative content.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell access to the Service without our written permission.
  • Use the public API in a way that circumvents rate limits or account restrictions.
  • Infringe anyone else's intellectual property or impersonate another person.
  • Attempt to access another family's account or data.

6. Billing & subscriptions

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on what you select) and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings; cancelling stops future renewals, and your existing access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.

All fees are non-refundable except as described in our Refund Policy, which also explains how the separate, small identity-verification charge works - it is not a purchase and is always reversed automatically.

Prices are shown in your local currency where supported and may vary by region.

7. Content ownership

Projects, code, and other content your child creates in Studio belong to your family, not to us. By publishing a project, you grant Cocoon a limited license to host and display it publicly at its published address and, if applicable, in our public gallery, for as long as it stays published.

The Cocoon platform itself - including Emma, our course content, our brand, and our software - is owned by Think Grid Technologies Private Limited and is not covered by that license.

8. AI-generated content

Emma's responses, feedback, and generated content are produced by AI models and are moderated by our safety systems, but they are not guaranteed to be complete, accurate, or error-free. Emma's lessons are educational in nature and are not a substitute for professional educational, medical, legal, or safety advice.

9. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, attempts to bypass safety controls, engages in fraud, or has unresolved non-payment. Where reasonably possible, we'll notify the account Owner first.

You may delete your family account at any time. Deleting an account triggers the data-deletion process described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Think Grid Technologies Private Limited's total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll notify account Owners by email and show a notice in the product before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
